Marbled Banana Bread


1 3/4 cups flour

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 cup mashed bananas

1/2 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped

2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Preheat the oven to 350.

Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan generously with butter.

Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.

In a bowl beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 2 minutes.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add flour mixture and mix on low until combined.

Add bananas, sour cream, vanilla and beat until combined.

Put chocolate in a microwave and cook on high power in 20 second intervals, stopping to stir in between, until about 80% melted.

Stir until smooth,add cocoa powder and stir until dissolved.

Add one cup of batter to the chocolate and stir until combined.

Spoon plain batter and chocolate batter alternately into loaf pan.

Swirl batters together with a knife (don't overdo it.

Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.

Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes, then remove loaf from pan and set on a wire rack to cool completely.
